Adobe tests inserting intrusive ads in Android's share sheet and 'Open with' popup

When you're a developer with a massive portfolio of apps, you're definitely going to want to encourage your users to try out as many as possible. About a year back we spotted Microsoft trying something along those lines by shadily sneaking app advertisements into Android's share menu if the user had installed even one of its other apps. Following in Microsoft's footsteps, Adobe has now started testing similar install suggestions for its own range of apps.

One of our tipsters came across these sneaky advertisements on both the share and open-with screens. The one Adobe app that appears to especially be trying to take advantage of this method is Photoshop Express, while Adobe Scan also made a couple of appearances. All this self-promotion can be traced back to Acrobat Reader — Adobe's massively popular PDF reader. Poking around inside, we found a few code strings showing signs of these promotional elements.

None of us here at Android Police have been able to reproduce these install suggestions, pointing to a limited test at the moment. You can try it out for yourself by resetting your choice of default app for opening photos and see if the Photoshop Express ad shows up. Meanwhile, we just hope that Adobe doesn't decide to go ahead with this idea of bringing such ads to a broader userbase.

Google chrome crashed and now laptop is running very slowly. Malware? - Virus, Trojan, Spyware, and Malware Removal Help - BleepingComputer

Hello, My Huawei laptop is not very old and has been working perfectly until yesterday. Google Chrome crashed and now it takes longer to start up, and neither chrome or Microsoft edge work properly (very slow and keep buffering). My avast anti virus has not found anything when I scanned, but I can't think what else the problem can be. I tried some of the steps in the post about a slow computer not being a malware problem but nothing changed, and since I don't have very much installed on my laptop I don't think it can be a problem with memory. Any help in fixing this would be very much appreciated.
