The first and easiest way to find out which Samsung phone you have is to inspect the phone box. This is advisable when your phone does not boot and you must provide information about your phone's model name to customer service.
The phone's common name is displayed prominently on the top of the box, and you will find the exact model number on labels stuck on the bottom edge and bottom.

When inspecting the labels, look for a codename following the pattern SM-Sxxxx, where the x is replaced with letters and alphabets. For example, the phone's exact model number is SM-S918B on the label pictured above.
If you're wondering what /DS means, it indicates that the phone is a dual-SIM variant.

If you need the longer model name, which includes all the data on your specific region and country, the label on the back of the box will be helpful. In the image above, the codename SM-S918BZKCINS is the complete model name of the phone.
If you don't have access to the box of your phone, but your phone is in working condition, you can spot the model number within the Settings app.
You can provide the model code or the model name to customer service, and they can pinpoint your exact Samsung Galaxy phone.
If you have a model code or model name at hand and want to know the marketing name of the phone, do a Google Search for the same. Product listings, especially at retailers, will likely tell you the phone's marketing name and region of sale.

Once again, your phone box will list the RAM and storage (ROM) on your Samsung phone. The image above shows the phone has 256GB of ROM (i.E., internal storage) and 12GB of RAM.
If you'd like to find out the RAM and storage displayed inside your phone, follow these steps:
If, for some reason, you cannot access this settings page, or you need more granular info, you can make use of third-party apps like DevCheck Device & System Info that share a lot more detail about your phone.

As you can see in the screenshot above, my phone has a Qualcomm processor. The app also provides further details, like the full marketing name of the processor, the model codename, and more.
The process gets a little complicated if you cannot access the phone. You will have to determine if Samsung is selling the Snapdragon or the Exynos variant in the region you plan to purchase the phone. For example, all models of the Galaxy S23 series sold over the world ship with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, whereas for the Galaxy S22 series, users in Europe got the Exynos 2200 SoC, while the rest of the world got the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC.
If you can access the exact model number, this task becomes more manageable. You can do a Google Search with the same to land on this information.

CommentsSamsung Galaxy S24 Full Details May Have Just Been Accidentally Leaked
Samsung's next flagship phone is thought to launch in early 2024, but it was just listed on Walmart. Was this an accident? One can never know for sure, but it looks like it, not least because it has now been taken down, though not before several sources captured the details. Here's what we've learnt.
Samsung's Galaxy S23 series is about to be updated with the S24. And some details may have leaked.
AFP via Getty ImagesPicked up by X poster @app_settings and wccftech.Com, Walmart's listing related to the Samsung Galaxy S24 Plus.
MORE FROM FORBESApple iOS 17.3 Release Date: Awesome iPhone Upgrade Coming SoonBy David Phelan Similar Design, Different DisplayThe design, claiming to show the phone in Onyx Black finish. The image, looks similar to the Galaxy S23 Plus from the rear. Nonetheless, there are noticeable differences. If the details on the now-vanished ad are correct, it seems the display size on the next model will be bigger than the current one, rising from 6.6 inches to 6.7 inches. Internal changes are also afoot, the listing suggests. The specs also mention that you'll be able to "See it all in stunning detail on the bigger and brighter screens of Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24 Plus. Which tells us that the regular S24 screen is going to be bigger than the S23 and that both will have greater brightness.
More Memory For More Powerful FeaturesRAM onboard the S23 Plus is 8GB, while the next model will lift this significantly to 12GB, which is a first. It looks like this uptick is part of the predicted inclusion of generative AI features, and some of the practical benefits of these are mentioned.
The first of these is, "Live Translate—Speak foreign languages on the spot, right from inside the Samsung Phone app, with Live Translate."
Then there's something called Generative Edit, which promises to move or remove objects in photos, which can also fill in empty spaces in photos. Note that this requires an internet connection, suggesting that the most advanced features could be achieved online rather than on-device.
Other photographic capabilities mentioned in the ad are nightography zoom, which promises to "bring your night into the light," and high resolution, which specifically says, "Share more of life's most share worthy moments in natural, true to life color with 50MP camera." That's the same pixel count as the last camera, by the way.
We'll find out full details in due course, but for now, again assuming the details are accurate, it looks like Samsung is working on a new phone that looks similar to the current one, though with a bigger, brighter display, and with upgrades designed to improve performance, and make next-gen features possible.
Though this listing has now vanished from Walmart, more leaks and reports are likely before the expected release date of the S24 series in January, 2024.
